James E. Long is a Physician Assistant with Williston Rural Health and Wellness Clinic. In this role, Mr. Long provides primary care to the local rural community, as well as providing care at the local Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home. He is a big believer in patient education. A quotable saying of his “an informed patient is a healthy patient”.
James maintains National Certification as a Physician Assistant. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with his B.S as a Physician Associate. His Master’s Degree is from the University of Nebraska, in Emergency Medicine. Mr. Long has practiced as a Physician assistant for 34 years in various clinical settings: Pediatrics, Family Practice, Occupational Health, Urgent Care/Emergency Room, Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine.
Mr. Long served Honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. He is a proud Life Member of the Veterans Caucus of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In 1999, the Veterans Caucus honored him as “THE OUTSTANDING CIVILIAN PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT OF THE YEAR.”
